Collagen is the most abundant source of protein in the body. It is an essential part of all connective tissue and aids in the proper health of every system in the body including skin, digestive, nervous, musculoskeletal, endocrine system, and more. 

WHY DO I NEED COLLAGEN?

Because our modern diets are lacking in nutrition, we do not receive adequate amounts of collagen through the foods we eat daily. Thus the need for supplementation. 

HOW DO I USE COLLAGEN?

We tell our customers that the best way to get collagen in your diet on a daily basis is by adding it to something you already use daily! Whether that be your morning coffee, afternoon/evening tea, pre or post workout smoothie, oatmeal, yogurt, baked goods, or favorite recipe, it makes it that much simpler to ensure you are getting an adequate amount of collagen in your body everyday. 

IS IT SAFE TO USE DURING PREGNANCY AND/OR BREASTFEEDING?

Because nutritional needs may vary, it is best to contact your doctor or health practitioner before taking collagen.

IS IT SAFE TO GIVE TO MY KIDS?

Because each child is different and nutritional needs may vary, it is best to contact your child's pediatrician or health practitioner before giving them collagen. 

WHERE SHOULD I STORE MY COLLAGEN?

Collagen is very shelf stable; however, we recommend storing it in a cool dark place away from moisture. 

HOW LONG SHOULD I TAKE COLLAGEN BEFORE EXPECTING RESULTS?

Because each person is different with a wide range of health history and needs, we recommend that you take it daily for 30 days to see results.

HOW MUCH COLLAGEN SHOULD I CONSUME FOR BEST RESULTS?

We recommend taking about 20g of collagen on a daily basis.

WHEN SHOULD I STOP TAKING COLLAGEN?

Because each person's needs are different, this may vary; however, we recommend taking collagen continuously to achieve best results.  

WHY WHOULD I TAKE COLLAGEN AS A FORM OF PROTEIN INSTEAD OF OTHER PROTEIN POWDERS SUCH AS WHEY OR PLANT BASED?

Because of collagen's low molecular weight, it is absorbed easier and made more bioavailable to the body. Collagen is also rich in the amino acids glycine, lysine, and proline which is less abundant in other sources. After the age of 25, our bodies connective tissue diminishes, and needs to be replenished through daily supplementation of collagen. The amino acids in collagen also help stimulate cell growth in your body much quicker. 

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN COLLAGEN?

Our packages of collagen only have one ingredient- collagen! We do not add any binders, preservatives, fillers, chemicals, or artificial sweeteners. 

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF COLLAGEN?

Our collagen is very shelf stable and has a shelf life of 4-5 years. 

WHERE IS YOUR COLLAGEN SOURCED?

Our Marine Collagen is sourced from wild caught, deep sea fish in the North Atlantic Ocean. Through a special hydrolization process, we use the skins of these fish to ensure highest quality and nutrition content. 

Our Collagen Peptides are sourced from the hides of cattle in South America. These cattle have traditionally been raised in herds that graze freely on the natural grasslands.

IS YOUR COLLAGEN THIRD PARTY TESTED? 

Yes, all of our collagen is batch tested by an independent, third party, certified laboratory for strict levels of toxicity, microbiological components, heavy metals, and chemicals. 

IS YOUR COLLAGEN VEGAN?

No. Because our collagen is sourced from cows and/or fish, it is not vegan. We have yet to find a known, quality source of vegan collagen. 

IS YOUR COLLAGEN KOSHER?

Yes, all of our collagen is Kosher Certified. 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MARINE COLLAGEN AND COLLAGEN PEPTIDES? 

The main difference is the source. Our Collagen Peptides are sourced from pasture raised bovine hides, and our Marine Collagen is sourced from wild caught fish in the North Atlantic Ocean.

If compared side by side, there may be a slight variation of color, taste, and/or smell from one source than the other; however our collagen is generally thought to be flavorless and odorless. 

I'M LOOKING FOR TYPE 1 COLLAGEN- WHAT SHOULD I BUY?

Marine collagen is made up of Type 1 Collagen and specifically support your hair, skin, and nails. This is because those parts of the body are made up of Type 1 Collagen. 

I'M LOOKING FOR TYPE 3 COLLAGEN- WHAT SHOULD I BUY? 

Collagen peptides is composed of Types 1 and 3 Collagen. This specifically supports your hair, skin, nails as well as your bones, joints, ligaments, and more. This is because those parts of the body are comprised of Types 1 and 3.

WHERE IS YOUR GRASSFED BOVINE LIVER SOURCED? 

Our bovine liver capsules are made from 100% New Zealand origin cattle and pasture raised. We make sure our herd is closely monitored and cared for without the use of harmful antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides. 

WHY DO I NEED BOVINE LIVER IN MY DIET?

Liver is widely known and prized as the ancient superfood. It is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and supports vital metabolic functions in the body. Key nutrients include: preformed Vitamin A (retinol), B Vitamins (especially B12), zinc, iron, copper, folate, riboflavin, and choline. 

IS IT SAFE TO TAKE DURING PREGNANCY AND/OR BREASTFEEDING?

Because nutritional needs may vary, it is best to contact your doctor or health practitioner before taking collagen. However, because of the rich source of complex B Vitamins in found liver, they are an excellent supplement for those suffering with low iron levels or diagnosed with anemia (very common among menstruating, pregnant, or breastfeeding women). 

IS IT SAFE TO GIVE TO MY KIDS?

Because each child is different and nutritional needs may vary, it is best to contact your child's pediatrician or health practitioner before giving it to them. However, because it supports vital functions throughout the entire body, liver has been widely used among all ages for centuries.

Our liver capsules are shelf stable; however, we recommend storing it in a cool dark place away from moisture. 

SHOULD I TAKE THE LIVER CAPSULES WITH OR WITHOUT FOOD?

Because our Bovine Liver Capsules are a whole food dietary product (this means they are technically food in and of themselves!), they can be taken with or without food. 

HOW MANY CAPSULES SHOULD I TAKE FOR BEST RESULTS?

Our recommended serving is 6 capsules a day or as directed by a healthcare professional. 6 capsules is equivalent to about 1 ounce of fresh, grassfed bovine liver that you'd receive from your local butcher or farmer. They can be taken all at once or divided throughout your day.  

I'M SENSITIVE TO SUPPLEMENTS, SHOULD I INTRODUCE THEM SLOWLY?

For those who are sensitive to supplements or have an autoimmune condition, it is best to start slowly by taking 1-2 capsules per day and increasing by 1 capsule over the course of a few days. Listen to your body and take it slowly. By following this method, it may take up to a few weeks to get to the recommended serving size of 6 capsules/day. 

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT A DETOXIFICATION PERIOD?

Most individuals are able to introduce liver capsules into their diet without incident; however if you experience a reaction or are worried about one, it is best to introduce the capsules slowly over the course of a few weeks as stated in the question above. Detox symptoms take on a variety of forms such as nausea, headache, fatigue, dizziness, or even flu like symptoms. This is often an indication that your body is starting to heal and release a variety of toxins. If detox occurs, feel free to lessen the dose as desired.
